The simplest and most effective method of feeding vitamins and minerals to dairy cows is via the water system. All lactating cows will consume high volumes of water. TNT electronic control units have been specifically designed to overcome variations in water consumption (I.E. Wet Days). This ensures that cows receive the required dose of daily minerals.
The basis of this system is a programmable controller, which stores data such as the herd size and mineral requirements. The controller is then connected to a water meter, which monitors how much water is being consumed allowing the controller to increase or decrease the concentrations of both the Magnesium Chloride and/or the Minerals.

Lactating cows find liquid much easier to absorb within the body. Studies have shown that minerals in water can be almost 100% available, whereas minerals in the feed are often found to be significantly less available to the body for absorption.
